Hot Start for Kodiaks

For the first time since 2007, the Kodiaks have started the regular season by winning their first three games. Third period goals by Jakson Elynuik and Luc Vandale gave the Kodiaks a 4-2 win in Lloydminster Wednesday night. It was Elynuik's first AJHL goal while Vandale's was into an empty net, his second shorthanded, empty net goal of the season. Josh Smith and Nelson Gadoury had the other Kodiaks goals, both on the powerplay. Kirsten Odendaal had two assists while Matt Gibney won his second game by stopping 16 shots.
