Kodiaks Win Home Opener

For the 2nd straight year, the Kodiaks have won their opening game of the season. Tanner Tyndall scored twice while Luc Vandale and Cam Gotaas each had a goal and an assist as the home squad beat the Calgary Mustangs 6-3 in front of over 13-hundred fans at Encana Arena on Septyember 7th. Tyndall's 1st goal at 12:23 of the opening period was a shorthanded marker, one of 3 on the night for the Kodiaks. The Mustangs scored 2 goals while down a man. Tanner McMaster and Jonathan Lashyn, on the powerplay, also scored for the Kodiaks who outshot the Mustangs 43-21. Matt Gibney made 18 saves for the win. The 3 shorthanded goals for the Kodiaks is just one off the team's total for all of last season. Head Coach, Boris Rybalka talkes about his team's effort.
