The Camrose Kodiaks are pleased to start our 2009-2010 season off by announcing that 18-year-old forward Clayton Jardine (Lacombe, AB) has committed to attend Merrimack College (Hockey East).
Clayton is currently in his third season with the Kodiaks. Clayton played in 58 regular season games last season and accumulated 13 goals and 20 assists. Clayton will be joining former teammates Karl Stollery and Jesse Todd as well as former Kodiak Chris Barton on the Warriors.
“Many people forget that Clayton is only 18 years old” says Coach/G.M. Boris Rybalka. “We are looking forward this upcoming season to watch his growth not only as a player but as a person as well.”
The Kodiaks would like to congratulate Clayton and his family. We are extremely proud of Clayton and his accomplishments, and look forward to his continued contribution to our program in preparation for what is sure to be a very successful collegiate career with the Merrimack Warriors.

TOM KROSHUS

PRINCETON

The Camrose Kodiaks are pleased to announce that 17-year-old defenseman Tom Kroshus (Calgary, AB) has committed to attend Princeton University (Eastern College Athletic Conference) for the 2011 season. Tom is currently in his first season with the Kodiaks. Tom has played in 26 games in his rookie campaign, accumulating 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points.

“Tom has come in as a rookie and met and even exceeded our expectations of him” says G.M./Coach Boris Rybalka. “We are not surprised at the attention Tom received from many top-flight schools”.

The Kodiaks would like to congratulate Tom and his family. Not only has Tom worked extremely hard on his hockey skills, but his academic excellence has also allowed him to attend one of the finest schools in the world. We know Tom will be a great addition to the Princeton Tigers.

BEN GALLACHER

OHIO STATE

The Camrose Kodiaks are pleased to announce that 17-year-old defenseman Ben Gallacher (Calgary, AB) has committed to attend Ohio State University (Central Collegiate Hockey Association) for the 2011 season.
Ben is currently in his second season with the Kodiaks. Ben was a member of Team Canada West in Summerside, P.E.I. for the 2009 World Junior A Challenge where he helped the team to a silver medal. He has also been named to the 2010 South Division A.J.H.L All-Star Team. Ben has played in 20 games in his sophomore campaign, accumulating 1 goal and 14 assists for 15 points.
“Ben has made huge strides for us this year” says G.M./Coach Boris Rybalka. “He is just beginning to round into shape again after his injury and we look forward to great things from Ben in the second half of the season. We are not surprised that he is on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau’s “Players to Watch” list for the 2010 draft.”
The Kodiaks would like to congratulate Ben and his family. We are extremely proud of Ben and his accomplishments, and look forward to his continued contribution to our program in preparation for what is sure to be a very successful collegiate career with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

ERIC SLEMP

ALASKA FAIRBANKS

* SIGNED LETTER OF INTENT WHILE PLAYING FOR DRUMHELLER

The Drumheller Dragons are pleased to announce the commitment of 17 year old Eric Slemp to the University of Alaska Fairbanks for the 2009-2010 season. This marks the fourth Dragons player to receive a scholarship to UAF in the past 3 seasons. We are excited for Eric and his Parents, Roland and Iris, as Eric has worked very hard to get this opportunity.
Rob Hegberg had this to say about his freshman forward, “Eric has proven to us and UAF that he can play at an elite level, he has put in the time and effort and is now being rewarded for it. Eric has been a great addition to our forward line up with 8 goals, 4 assists for 12 points in 15 games to start the season. He is getting better everyday and has done everything we have asked of him. He has a bright future ahead of him!”
Eric joins three Dragons Alumni, Brandon Knelsen, Dion Knelsen and Jeff young to move on to Alaska and suit up for the Nanooks. The Dragons Organization extends congratulations to Eric and his Parents for this great opportunity and wish him the best of luck!
